A full spectrum doula offers continuous care across the reproductive and life-cycle spectrum — through bleed, birth, death, parenting and everything in between — depending on their individual expertise and offerings.
This could look like:
providing explanations of procedures, protocol, and policy relevant to the client & their journey
creating space for discussion in order for the client to make empowered and informed decisions about their own care
providing tools, resources and information
suggesting comfort measures and coping techniques in labour or early birth
inspiring the client to recognise their unique strengths, abilities and innate intuition
guiding them to assert their desires and communicate their concerns to their care provider in order to improve odds at achieving an excellent outcome & experience.
providing physical, emotional and informational support through various life shifts & transformations
I currently offer gentle care and support through family building, fertility, loss, pregnancy, birth and postpartum/parenting.

The benefits of having a doula support you through life’s cycles, seasons, transitions, and thresholds are numerous — and during pregnancy, birth and labour having known, continuous support leads to real differences in birth outcomes, maternal and child health.
Doula support and / or true continuity of care throughout pregnancy, birth and labour has also been shown to:
Reduce the likelihood of a cesarean birth
Reduce the use of pain management during labor
Reduce the use of interventions during labor
Increase the likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth
Reduce the length of labor
Reduce stress and anxiety during labor
Increase feelings of positivity about birth experiences
I currently offer complimentary 30 minute consultations for those curious about pregnancy and postpartum support. Learn more here.

Full spectrum birth support honours the full spectrum of birthing and reproductive experiences. Every birth is different and all birthing people deserve care that is affirming of their informed choices. While I have a great respect and trust in the physiological birth process, as a full spectrum doula I advocate for all birthing people to birth in a way that feels right for them and their families. This means that I’m committed to providing non-judgemental and compassionate support for all my clients.
If you are choosing to birth your babe(s) in your home, in a hospital setting or birthing centre, with an obstetrician or a midwife, with or without medical interventions — you deserve to do so feeling confident and affirmed in your choices.
As your doula my support in this space is tailored to ensure you receive the kind of individualised care that feels right for you and your family as a whole.
